I had read there are currently 19k kids of the age range in Multnomah that are eligible for preschooling…is the conclusion only 11k of the 19k would elect to take advantage of this program, and the rest would elect not to bc of some alternative (choosing private preschool, home school, not going to prechool)? With 90% of folks knowing how to file by Feb 1, I assume this is by year 2? In 2022 (for tax year ) 2021, how would anybody know when Turbotax, HR Block, and other didn’t know, no notices went out and even local employers didn’t withhold for it?Īnd then reaching universality by 2030 is in contradiction to a number I read…they wanted to serve 11k kids by 2030. Glad there is some saving up for rainy day costs and that there is a clear anticipation to improve cost/student as they scale from 675. Some of the notes give me a little optimism. Seems like a lot of folks were surprised last November that they were supposed to file an additional tax return on to pay for PFA and SHS taxes starting April 2022.
